This annual event aims to recognise and reward the best in Siswati and IsiNdebele literature while also contributing to the cultural and economic development of Mpumalanga and South Africa at large.

1. Best Book in Siswati – Recognising exceptional fiction, non-fiction, and poetry written in Siswati.
2. Best Book in IsiNdebele – Recognising exceptional fiction, non-fiction, and poetry written in IsiNdebele.
3. Reader’s Choice – this award allows readers to choose their favourite book or author. Authors must opt-in to be eligible.
4. Siswati Academic Book Of The Year – Celebrating outstanding academic works that contribute to the promotion of Siswati as a language of scholarly discourse.
5. Visually Impaired Literacy Excellence Award – Recognising outstanding literary contributions by or for visually impaired individuals in Siswati and IsiNdebele.
